Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
