Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
