Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
