Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
