Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
