Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
