Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 Others will be despondent, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
