Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
