Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
