Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
