Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
