Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
