Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
