Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
