Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
