Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
