Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
