Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
