Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
