Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
