Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
