Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
