Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
