Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
