Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 Others will be despondent, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
