Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
