Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
