Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon darkens 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
