Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
