Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
