Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
