Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
