Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
