Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
