Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
