Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
