Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
