The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
There surely came over man a period of time when he was a thing not worth mentioning. 1 Verily, We have created man from Nutfah drops of mixed semen (discharge of man and woman), in order to try him, so We made him hearer, seer. 2 Surely We have shown him the way: he may be thankful or unthankful. 3 We have prepared chains, shackles, and flaming fire (for the disbelievers). 4 As to the Righteous, they shall drink of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Kafur,- 5 A Fountain where the Devotees of Allah do drink, making it flow in unstinted abundance. 6 Those who fulfil their vows and fear the Day whose evil shall be diffused far and wide, 7 And they give food, inspite of their love for it (or for the love of Him), to Miskin (poor), the orphan, and the captive, 8 Saying: we feed you only for the sake of Allah; we desire not from you any recompense or thanks. 9 "We only fear a Day of distressful Wrath from the side of our Lord." 10 Therefore Allah will guard them from the evil of that day and cause them to meet with ease and happiness; 11 And shall recompense them for that which they patiently bare with a Garden and silken garment. 12 They will recline therein on couches and they will find neither excessive heat nor cold. 13 And the shades of the (Garden) will come low over them, and the bunches (of fruit), there, will hang low in humility. 14 And there shall be made to go round about them vessels of silver and goblets which are of glass, 15 Crystal-clear, made of silver: they will determine the measure thereof (according to their wishes). 16 Therein they shall be served a cup flavoured with ginger, 17 [derived from] a source [to be found] therein, whose name is "Seek Thy Way". 18 ۞ And there shall go round unto them youths ever-young. When thou seest them thou wouldst deem them pearls unstrung. 19 wherever you look, you will see bliss and a great kingdom: 20 Upon them will be green Garments of fine silk and heavy brocade, and they will be adorned with Bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give to them to drink of a Wine Pure and Holy. 21 "This in truth is your recompense, and acceptance of your endeavours." 22
