The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Hath there come upon man (ever) any period of time in which he was a thing unremembered? 1 Lo! We create man from a drop of thickened fluid to test him; so We make him hearing, knowing. 2 Surely We showed him the Right Path, regardless of whether he chooses to be thankful or unthankful (to his Lord). 3 We have prepared for unbelievers chains and collars and a blazing fire. 4 Surely the righteous shall drink of a cup the admixture of which is camphor 5 From a fountain whence the bondmen of Allah will drink, causing it to gush abundantly. 6 they who keep their vows and fear a Day whose evil is spread; 7 They feed the destitute, orphans, and captives for the love of God, saying, 8 (Saying): We feed you, for the sake of Allah only. We wish for no reward nor thanks from you; 9 We are afraid of our Lord and the bitterly distressful day". 10 God will certainly rescue them from the terror of that day and will meet them with joy and pleasure. 11 and will reward them for all their patience in adversity with a garden [of bliss] and with [garments of] silk. 12 Reclining therein on raised thrones, they will see there neither the excessive heat of the sun, nor the excessive bitter cold, (as in Paradise there is no sun and no moon). 13 near them shall be its shades, and its clusters hung meekly down, 14 And there shall be made to go round about them vessels of silver and goblets which are of glass, 15 Clear glasses [made] from silver of which they have determined the measure. 16 And therein they shall be given to drink of a cup whereof the admixture will be ginger. 17 (The water of) a spring therein, named Salsabil. 18 ۞ Immortal youths shall surround them, waiting upon them; when you see them, you would think they are scattered pearls. 19 When you look around, you will see delights and great dominion. 20 Upon them there will be garments of green silk, rich brocade, and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver. Their Lord will give them a pure beverage to drink. 21 'See, this is your recompense, your striving is thanked' 22
