The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Hath there come upon man (ever) any period of time in which he was a thing unremembered? 1 Lo! We create man from a drop of thickened fluid to test him; so We make him hearing, knowing. 2 Surely We showed him the Right Path, regardless of whether he chooses to be thankful or unthankful (to his Lord). 3 Lo! We have prepared for disbelievers manacles and carcans and a raging fire. 4 Verily the pious shall drink of a cup whereof the admixture is like unto camphor. 5 a fountain at which the worshipers of Allah drink and make it gush forth abundantly; 6 They (are those who) fulfill (their) vows, and they fear a Day whose evil will be wide-spreading. 7 They feed the destitute, orphans, and captives for the love of God, saying, 8 "We only feed you for the sake of God and we do not want any reward or thanks from you. 9 “Indeed we fear from our Lord a day which is extremely bitter, most severe.” 10 So Allah will save them from the evil of that Day and has secured for them radiance and joyfulness, 11 And gave them Paradise and silk clothes, as a reward for their patience. 12 [They will be] reclining therein on adorned couches. They will not see therein any [burning] sun or [freezing] cold. 13 The shade thereof is close upon them and the clustered fruits thereof bow down. 14 Vessels of silver and goblets of pure crystal will be passed round among them 15 Also there will be crystal clear goblets of silver containing the exact measure of drink which they desire. 16 and they will be given a cup to drink flavoured with ginger, 17 drawn from a spring (in Paradise) called Salsabil. 18 ۞ And there shall go round unto them youths ever-young. When thou seest them thou wouldst deem them pearls unstrung. 19 When you look around, you will see delights and great dominion. 20 Upon those [blest] will be garments of green silk and brocade; and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver. And their Sustainer will them to drink of a drink most pure. 21 "Verily this is a Reward for you, and your Endeavour is accepted and recognised." 22
