The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Was there not a period of time when man was nothing worth mentioning? 1 Indeed We have created man from mixed semen; in order to test him – We therefore made him hearing, knowing. 2 Lo! We have shown him the way, whether he be grateful or disbelieving. 3 Surely We have prepared for the unbelievers chains and shackles and a burning fire. 4 Surely the devotees will drink cups flavoured with palm blossoms 5 The Kafoor is a spring, from which the chosen bondmen of Allah will drink, causing it to flow wherever they wish inside their palaces. 6 The servants of God fulfill their vows and are afraid of the day in which there will be widespread terror. 7 they give food, despite their love for it, to the poor and orphans and captives, 8 "We only feed you for the sake of God and we do not want any reward or thanks from you. 9 We fear the dismal day calamitous from our Lord." 10 God will certainly rescue them from the terror of that day and will meet them with joy and pleasure. 11 and recompensed them for their patience with a Garden, and silk; 12 therein they shall recline upon couches, therein they shall see neither sun nor bitter cold; 13 And close upon them will be the shades thereof, and low will hang the clusters thereof greatly. 14 And amongst them will be passed round vessels of silver and cups of crystal, 15 Glass made from silver, which the servers have filled up to the measure. 16 There will they drink a cup flavoured with ginger 17 from a spring named salsabil. 18 ۞ They will be served by immortal youths who look like scattered pearls. 19 wherever you look, you will see bliss and a great kingdom: 20 They [i.e., the virtuous] shall be attired in garments of fine green silk and rich brocade and will be adorned with bracelets of silver. Their Lord will give them a pure wine to drink. 21 'See, this is your recompense, your striving is thanked' 22
