The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
There was certainly a time when there was no mention of the human being. 1 Verily We created Man from a drop of mingled sperm, in order to try him: So We gave him (the gifts), of Hearing and Sight. 2 Verily We! We shewed him the way; then he becometh either thankful or ingrate. 3 Surely We have prepared for the unbelievers chains, fetters, and a Blaze. 4 the righteous shall drink from a cup mixed with the coolness of kafur, 5 From a fountain whence the bondmen of Allah will drink, causing it to gush abundantly. 6 They [are those who] fulfill [their] vows and fear a Day whose evil will be widespread. 7 And they feed with food, for love of Him, the needy, and the orphan and the captive. 8 (Saying): "We feed you for the sake of God, desiring neither recompense nor thanks. 9 Lo! we fear from our Lord a day of frowning and of fate. 10 So Allah will save them from the evil of that Day and has secured for them radiance and joyfulness, 11 And because they were patient and constant, He will reward them with a Garden and (garments of) silk. 12 They will recline therein on couches and they will find neither excessive heat nor cold. 13 And near above them are its shades, and its [fruit] to be picked will be lowered in compliance. 14 They will be served with silver dishes and crystal clear goblets. 15 Godblets of silver, they shall have filled them to exact measure. 16 And therein they shall be given to drink of a cup whereof the admixture will be ginger. 17 [derived from] a source [to be found] therein, whose name is "Seek Thy Way". 18 ۞ And round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness): If thou seest them, thou wouldst think them scattered Pearls. 19 When you see them, you see bliss, and a great Kingdom. 20 Upon them there will be garments of green silk, rich brocade, and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver. Their Lord will give them a pure beverage to drink. 21 'See, this is your recompense, your striving is thanked' 22
