The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Was there not a period of time when man was nothing worth mentioning? 1 We have created the human from a (sperm) drop, a mixture, testing him; We made him to hear and see. 2 Indeed, We have guided him to the path, he is either grateful or ungrateful. 3 Indeed, We have prepared for the disbelievers chains and shackles and a blaze. 4 Verily, the Abrar (pious, who fear Allah and avoid evil), shall drink a cup (of wine) mixed with water from a spring in Paradise called Kafur. 5 A Fountain where the Devotees of Allah do drink, making it flow in unstinted abundance. 6 They fulfill vows and fear a day the evil of which shall be spreading far and wide. 7 And they give food, inspite of their love for it (or for the love of Him), to Miskin (poor), the orphan, and the captive, 8 We only feed you for Allah's sake; we desire from you neither reward nor thanks: 9 “Indeed we fear from our Lord a day which is extremely bitter, most severe.” 10 God will certainly rescue them from the terror of that day and will meet them with joy and pleasure. 11 And will reward them for what they patiently endured [with] a garden [in Paradise] and silk [garments]. 12 Reclining therein upon couches, they will find there neither (heat of) a sun nor bitter cold. 13 the shading branches of trees will come down low over them, and their clusters of fruit, will hang down where they are the easiest to reach. 14 And amongst them will be passed round vessels of silver and cups of crystal, 15 Crystal-clear, made of silver. They will determine the measure thereof according to their wishes. 16 They will drink cups containing (soft flowing) sparkling water 17 (The water of) a spring therein, named Salsabil. 18 ۞ They will be attended by youths who will not age -- when you see them you will think them to be like sprinkled pearls -- 19 When thou seest, thou wilt see there bliss and high estate. 20 Upon those [blest] will be garments of green silk and brocade; and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver. And their Sustainer will them to drink of a drink most pure. 21 [And they will be told:] "Verily, all this is your reward since Your endeavour [in life] has met [God's] goodly acceptance!" 22
