The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
There was certainly a time when there was no mention of the human being. 1 Verily We! We created man from a sperm of mixtures, that We might prove him, wherefore We made him hearing, seeing. 2 We have indeed shown him the way – whether he is grateful or ingrate. 3 Surely We have prepared for the unbelievers chains, fetters, and a Blaze. 4 The virtuous ones will drink from a cup containing camphor 5 which flows from a spring from which the servants of God will drink. 6 They fulfill vows and fear a day the evil of which shall be spreading far and wide. 7 And they give food out of love for Him to the poor and the orphan and the captive: 8 saying, "We feed you for the sake of God alone, we seek neither recompense nor thanks from you. 9 Lo! we fear from our Lord a day of frowning and of fate. 10 So Allah will save them from the evil of that Day and has secured for them radiance and joyfulness, 11 And reward them, because they were patient, with garden and silk, 12 Reclining therein upon couches, they will find there neither (heat of) a sun nor bitter cold. 13 since its [blissful] shades will come down low over them, and low will hang down its clusters of fruit, most easy to reach. 14 And there will be circulated among them vessels of silver and cups having been [created] clear [as glass], 15 goblets of silver that they have precisely measured. 16 And in Paradise they will be given to drink cups, filled with a mixture of ginger. 17 From a spring by the name of Ever-flowing-Salsabil. 18 ۞ There boys of everlasting youth shall go about attending them: when you see them, you would think that they are scattered pearls. 19 And when you look there [in Paradise], you will see pleasure and great dominion. 20 they will wear green garments of fine silk and rich brocade. They will be adorned with silver bracelets. And their Lord will give them a pure drink. 21 Behold, this is a recompense for you, and your striving is thanked.' 22
