The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hath there come upon man (ever) any period of time in which he was a thing unremembered? 1 Verily We created man out of a drop of intermingled sperm so that We might try him, and We therefore endowed him with hearing and sight. 2 We showed him the right path whether he would be grateful or ungrateful. 3 For the Rejecters we have prepared chains, yokes, and a blazing Fire. 4 Surely the devotees will drink cups flavoured with palm blossoms 5 A spring wherefrom the slaves of Allah will drink, causing it to gush forth abundantly. 6 They perform (their) vows, and they fear a Day whose evil flies far and wide. 7 they give food, despite their love for it, to the poor and orphans and captives, 8 (saying): “We feed you only for Allah's sake; we do not seek of you any recompense or thanks, 9 "We only fear a Day of distressful Wrath from the side of our Lord." 10 Wherefore Allah shall preserve them from the evil of that Day, and shall cause them to meet brightness and joy. 11 and will reward them for all their patience in adversity with a garden [of bliss] and with [garments of] silk. 12 There they will recline on elevated couches and will be subjected neither to the burning heat of the sun nor to bitter cold. 13 the shading branches of trees will come down low over them, and their clusters of fruit, will hang down where they are the easiest to reach. 14 and there shall be passed around them vessels of silver and goblets of crystal, 15 Crystal-clear, made of silver. They will determine the measure thereof according to their wishes. 16 They will drink cups containing (soft flowing) sparkling water 17 from a fountain called Salsabila. 18 ۞ And round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness): If thou seest them, thou wouldst think them scattered Pearls. 19 When thou seest, thou wilt see there bliss and high estate. 20 In it they adorn clothes of fine green silk and gold embroidery; and they are given silver bracelets to wear; and their Lord gave them pure wine to drink. 21 This will be their reward and their efforts will be appreciated. 22
