The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
WAS THERE NOT a time in the life of man when he was not even a mentionable thing? 1 Verily We! We created man from a sperm of mixtures, that We might prove him, wherefore We made him hearing, seeing. 2 Indeed, We have guided him to the path, he is either grateful or ungrateful. 3 Verily We! We have gotten ready for the infidels chains and collars and a Blaze. 4 The virtuous ones will drink from a cup containing camphor 5 a spring from which God's servants will drink, making it gush forth in branches. 6 They fulfil their vows, and fear a day whose evil is upon the wing; 7 And feed the needy for the love of Him, and the orphans and the captives, 8 (saying): “We feed you only for Allah's sake; we do not seek of you any recompense or thanks, 9 Surely we fear from our Lord a stern, distressful day. 10 Wherefore Allah shall preserve them from the evil of that Day, and shall cause them to meet brightness and joy. 11 And will reward them for what they patiently endured [with] a garden [in Paradise] and silk [garments]. 12 Reclining therein upon couches, they will find there neither (heat of) a sun nor bitter cold. 13 since its [blissful] shades will come down low over them, and low will hang down its clusters of fruit, most easy to reach. 14 They will be served with silver dishes and crystal clear goblets. 15 goblets bright as crystal but made of silver, filled to exact measure. 16 And they shall be given to drink from a cup whose mixture is ginger, 17 Which is a spring in Paradise called Salsabeel. 18 ۞ There wait on them immortal youths, whom, when thou seest, thou wouldst take for scattered pearls. 19 When thou seest, thou wilt see there bliss and high estate. 20 Their garments will be of fine green silk, and gold embroidery. They will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a pure drink. 21 "Verily this is a Reward for you, and your Endeavour is accepted and recognised." 22
