The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Indeed there has been a time for man, when even his name did not exist anywhere. 1 Indeed, We created man from a sperm-drop mixture that We may try him; and We made him hearing and seeing. 2 Verily We! We shewed him the way; then he becometh either thankful or ingrate. 3 We have indeed kept prepared chains, and shackles and a blazing fire for the disbelievers. 4 Surely the righteous shall drink of a cup the admixture of which is camphor 5 a spring from which God's servants will drink, making it gush forth in branches. 6 They fulfill their vow and dread a Day the evil whereof shall be widespreading. 7 And feed with food the needy wretch, the orphan and the prisoner, for love of Him, 8 [saying, in their hearts,] "We feed you for the sake of God alone: we desire no recompense from you, nor thanks: 9 Indeed, We fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful." 10 So Allah saved them from the evil of that day, and gave them freshness and joy. 11 And shall recompense them for that which they patiently bare with a Garden and silken garment. 12 Reclining upon couches, they will find therein neither the heat of the sun nor bitter, biting cold, 13 And close down upon them (shall be) its shadows, and its fruits shall be made near (to them), being easy to reach. 14 They will be served with silver dishes and crystal clear goblets. 15 crystal of silver that they have measured -- very exactly. 16 And they will be given to drink there a cup (of wine) mixed with Zanjabil (ginger, etc.), 17 therein a fountain whose name is called Salsabil. 18 ۞ Immortal youths shall surround them, waiting upon them; when you see them, you would think they are scattered pearls. 19 and when thou seest [anything that is] there thou wilt see [only] bliss and a realm transcendent 20 Upon them there will be garments of green silk, rich brocade, and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver. Their Lord will give them a pure beverage to drink. 21 Behold, this is your recompense and your endeavour has been appreciated. 22

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
