Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 then the criterion (the verses of Koran), separating 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 until an appointed time? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 the living and the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
