Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 excusing or warning, 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 until an appointed time? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
