Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 And those that strike violently, 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For what day is it timed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
